These are the facts about the unprofessional conduct of tour companies.

  1. Letting tourists out of the vehicle, e.g. at the Mara River - although this is prohibited.

  2. Harassing or luring wild animals, e.g. with food or noises for better photos.

  3. Leaving the official paths in national parks - which disturbs nature and animals.

  4. Ignoring park rules or instructions from rangers.

  5. Driving far too close to animals to bring customers ‘closer’ - dangerous and disrespectful.

  6. Making noise, playing music or loud entertainment that disturbs wildlife.

  7. Leaving rubbish in protected areas.

  8. Incorrect or missing safety measures (e.g. no first aid equipment).

  9. Selling tours with misleading promises, e.g. ‘guaranteed lion sightings’

  10. Disregard for animal welfare and conservation principles - purely profit-oriented behaviour.
